Saturday Musings: And then you…

This popped up in my memory feed on Facebook. What timing it is. I was just thinking last night about what it would be like to start dating again. And what I wanted in a partner at this stage in my life.

“Better never to have met you in my dream than to wake and reach for hands that are not there.” C.S. Lewis

Could I do it? Am I too damaged? Isn’t everyone damaged? In some way? We all have our baggage. We all have our quirks and downfalls that can make us seem impossible to live with.

In a perfect world. If I could find a nice guy, to hang out with once a week or so – but who understands that I need me time and may not always be up for going out on a date. Someone who is handy – works with wood and can build me my dream bedroom.

That would be amazing.

I don’t care about a fancy house, expensive cars or even luxury trips to the Bahamas. Okay, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t care. I kind of do. But it’s not a priority. It’s not who I am.

One day, I can see myself moving to a small farming town. Like the one my father grew up in. What it would be like to move out of this city and live on a small acerage in a cozy farmhouse. A place where I live near the mountains, enjoy nature’s beauty, smell the clean air – and find inspiration to write and work on music.

That’s the dream. The ultimate dream. And things I’m thinking of this chilly Saturday music while sipping coffee and listening to my Rainy Day Music playlist.

Greg Laswell – And then you

Rainy day music, for rainy chilly musings.

How my thoughts they spin me ’round
And how my thoughts they let me down
And how my thoughts they spin me ’round
And how my thoughts they let me down

And how my dreams they spin me ’round
And how my dreams they let me down
And how my thoughts they spin me ’round
And how my thoughts they let me down.

Then there’s you
Then there’s you
Then there’s you
Then there’s you

And how my love it spins me ’round
And how my love it’s let me down
And how my thoughts they spin me ’round
And how my thoughts they let me down
.

Then there’s you
Then there’s you
Then there’s you
Then there’s you

You know I know that you know
I’ve written…
